Description:

4-H County Activity Day(CAD) is an opportunity for 4-H youth, ages 5-18 to showcase their talents,demonstration and public speaking skills. Youth representing Scotland County may compete in and of the thirty-three presentation categories ranging from agriculture science to beef char-grill, as well as public speaking and open class. In 2014, 4-H added science fair as a new category allowing youth who maybe hesitant to speak before an audience, an opportunity to practice their presentation skills. Youth are separated in competition by category topic and age. The 5-8 year olds are classified as Cloverbuds and receive participation ribbons; There are three competitive categories: 9-10, 11-13, and 14-18.

One Monday of each month, Scotland County 4-H will host a workshop for youth, ages 5-14 (unless otherwise noted) at the Scotland County Cooperative Extension Center.

Youth will design and create a beautiful pillow to take home or give as a gift in an interactive learning environment in which individuality is encouraged.

No need for needles or thread. Come to our workshop to choose your own fabric design to create a unique "no sew" pillow. Using some of the basic sewing skills, you will create a pillow to take home.

Each workshop is $5 nonrefundable and must be paid 2 weeks prior to each class. The cost will cover materials, tools and snacks.

Description: One Saturday of each month, Scotland County 4-H will host a science, technology, engineering and mathematics workshop for youth, ages 5-14 (unless otherwise noted) at the Scotland County Cooperative Extension Center.

We all watch HGTV and DIY shows. Why not bring DIY to our neighborhood? Focusing on safety, youth select project(s) to build while learning how to identify types of wood and nails, how to use various hand tools, e.g. hammer and saw; sand and paint.

Each workshop is $5 nonrefundable and must be paid 2 weeks prior to each class. The cost will cover materials, tools and snacks.

Flip a switch, a ,light turns on. Turn a dial, the stove warms. Understanding how this works is someone's job. Become an Electrical Genius where you will learn to understand how we use electricity, identify electrical materials, build a flashlight, build and test a switch, wire a simple circuit and a lot of other technical stuff.
