Scotland County 4-H is excited to roll out a dynamic slate of programs and events designed to inspire, educate, and empower youth ages 5 to 18 in the coming year. With something for every interest—whether it's public speaking, science, grilling, gardening, or government—this year's lineup offers countless opportunities for hands-on learning, leadership growth, and lifelong memories.
Kicking off the year, the 4-H P.L.A.N.T.S. SPIN Club returns with fun-filled afternoons of every first and third Wednesday (excluding summer months). Youth looking to build their confidence and creativity will enjoy monthly workshops like Monday Mania and ThinkBIG Thursday, while those ready to dive into storytelling and media can join our brand-new 4-H Film Series launching in May.
Signature spring events include the South Central District 4-H Teen Retreat at Millstone 4-H Camp, The Ultimate Backyard BBQ Bootcamp, and the always-exciting 4-H County Activity Day, where youth show off their skills in presentations, talents, and demonstrations. Young leaders interested in civic engagement can take part in 4-H Citizenship NC Focus and YouthVoice, gaining firsthand experience in local and state government.
As summer rolls in, the opportunities heat up with programs like Boot Camp at IEJ Community Center, 4-H District Activity Day, Electric Congress, 4-H Congress, and Residential Camp. These events are not only packed with fun—they’re designed to develop resilience, responsibility, and real-world skills.
