Scotland County Farmers,
Now that the holidays are behind us, I wanted to let everyone know what commodity meetings and pesticide trainings are being planned for the coming weeks.
At this time, we are planning on having commodity meetings in-person like we traditionally do, including a meal. However, with the Covid situation deteriorating post-holidays, it would not be a surprise if once again we are forced to do these meetings virtually. We will do our best to get the word out if this changes but hopefully we will all be able to gather together safely in a few weeks.

2022 Herbicide Auxin Trainings & information
It looks like the EPA will not make any major changes to the herbicide auxin (Dicamba and 2,4-D) products for 2022. What this means is that anyone intending to use the Dicamba products (XtendiMax, Engenia & Tavium) both the owners and equipment operators will be required to attend a training session. This is similar to the events you have been through the last couple of years. The users of the 2,4-D (Enlist) products are encouraged but not required to go through this training.
These trainings will once again be offered virtually. So, you will have two options to receive this 1-hour training.
Option 1
If you are somewhat computer savvy and have decent internet access you can log-on and attend the training from your personal computer. This class will be held through Zoom, which is an interactive virtual class. You must log-in on time, provide your name and pesticide license number prior to the class starting and respond to the polling questions throughout the presentation. A camera is not required but you have to let them know you are there and paying attention. If you elect to go this route than please call me (910-277-2435) or email me (randy_wood@ncsu.edu) a day or two ahead of time so I can provide you with the link.
