Children’s Nature Programs - Summer Schedule 2024

Attention all outdoor enthusiasts,water bugs, bird watchers, social butterflies, and critter catchers.

Come out and join Horticulture Agent Ashley Grub and Community Youth Outreach Leader Samantha Baker for their first annual Summer Children’s Nature Program Series.

They will meet one SATURDAY MORNING a month at a local park, from 9 am – 12 pm to explore everything nature has to offer!

These activities target kids ages 6-10, but all ages are welcome!

Note: Children must be accompanied by a guardian at all times

18 May

Wild Wonderful Water Learn all about water on our planet through a variety of experiments and enjoy water play! Where: Dragon Park (1210 Turnpike Rd, Laurinburg) Who: Ages 6 - 10 9 am - 12 pm

15 June

All About Birds Enjoy observing native birds and make your own bird feeder to take home! Where: Flora Macdonald Gardens (St. Andrews University - Parking in Vardell lot) Who: Ages 6 - 10 9 am - 12 pm

13 July

Pollinator Party! Watch pollinators in their natural habitat - plus, plant your own pollinator-friendly wildflowers. Where: Hammond Park (715 Park Circle, Laurinburg) Who: Ages 6 - 10 9 am - 12 pm

10 August

Creepy Crawly Critters Get up close and personal with nature’s microscopic 6 and 8-legged friends! Where: Lumber River Chalk Banks State Park (26040 Raeford Rd, Wagram) Who: Ages 6 - 10 9 am - 12 pm
