Get ready to watch your passion for all things gardening grow!

Announcing our 2024/2025 Extension Master Gardener training class.

If you’ve been waiting excitedly for this announcement, we can’t wait to meet you and get started!

The initial seven week training kicks off on Thursday, October 3rd at 10 a.m. These introductory two hour weekly classes will act as a prerequisite for our Core Training Program in the Spring of 2025. If you attend at least 5 of the 7 classes and decide you want to be a part of our dedicated community of Extension Master Gardener volunteers, you can then sign up for an extended 12 week training program that will start on February 27th.
Weekly sessions will cover everything from pollinator plants, to lawns, to edible gardening, and will be taught by Extension agents and specialists and supplemented by insights from experienced Master Gardeners. There will be plenty of hands-on learning and field trips too!

Graduates of the program will then get to join a wonderful community of passionate people who are committed to serving as volunteer Extension educators. Through 50 hours of approved volunteer service completed by December 2026, Master Gardeners can make a meaningful impact in their communities by sharing their knowledge and love for gardening. These classes will be a collaborative effort between Hoke, Scotland, and Robeson counties.
